We are here, and there, and nowhere
One day a King outlawed lies in his kingdom, “Whoever is caught lying in my kingdom shall be punished by death!” He declared.
An old wise man heard of this decree and decided to pay that particular kingdom a visit. When he arrived, there at the entrance was a gallows the Kings builders had erected for all visitors to see to remind them of the King’s law. When the soldier asked the old wise man what his purpose of his visit was, the old wise man pointed at the gallows and said, “I came here to be hanged.”
“No you did not.” Says the soldier.
“If I have told a lie, hang me.” replied the old wise man.
“If we do that, you’d be telling the truth.” Answers the soldier.
“Precisely. Your truth.”
